Ever wonder what the State of Our Newsvine was? I have and been waiting for that article from the staff for quite a while. I propose that the staff make an effort to honestly evaluate the overall health of this site and keep its members informed as to what it is.
I see traffic is way down, even on good articles and seeds. Although I see the Trolls are still around. I know it's the summer and everybody is outside, on vacation, camping, gardening, etc. But it is definitely slower than past summers. Or at least it seems that way to me. And way slower than the old format.
How many of us are left? Really. I would like to know, maybe you would like to know too. I would like to see the number of users prior to the rollout of the New Newsvine vs. what we have now.
So, is it Twitter, Facebook, the nation concept, what has caused this place to become so sick? Is it savable or do we just wait for them disconnect the plug. With all that has gone on in the world over the last few weeks this place should be humming and buzzing with activity. Where's the chatter?
I'm not going to save the place, and no single nation is going to save this place. Sure, I've seen attempts at it. Whether that was the Monday Writing Challenge, by the way a challenge that should be whenever anyone wants to write, not just one day a week. Or the Best of, again have I missed something or has that not been published lately?
I think the State of Our Newsvine, is not good. Then again, that is just my opinion.
*Note. I published this to all of my groups, for I feel it is a community concern which needs a community wide solution.
