In a rainy and windy game at Candlestick Park The NY Giants defeat the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. They did it with a field goal by kicker Lawrence Tynes, winning by the score of 20-17. The game was slowed down by numerous penalties and each teams inability to march down field. The 49ers were 0 for 11 on third down conversions during regulation time. A costly error by the 49ers on a punt return set up the giants to take the lead 17-14, only to be quickly tied 17-17. Then another in OT, a fumble set up the game winning Field Goal. The 49ers registered 6 sacks of Quarterback Eli Manning who was also hit 20 times. Tynes won it for the Giants in 2008 the same way. This was the Giants 5th win in a row.
